A Blessing in Disguise

On Sunday while I was in the hospital I had my whole extended family together. I had my mom, dad and both my sisters and their children and spouses with them. All in my hospital room. For those of you that don't know my family doesn't all get along. Bradley is my little blessing in disguise. He got them all together in the same room and everyone was talking and happy and getting along. This has actually happened twice now since he has been born. Although in the hospital I was extreemly tired there was NO way I was going to ask any of them to leave so I could rest. I was just so happy to have them all together I had them all stay as long as they wanted, and then that night I slept like a baby, with my baby. :)

To me having my family all together is a big thing and it makes me SO happy to see everyone getting along and enjoying the family that we are. Thanks everyone for your support and for loving each other. I love all of my family and want them to be as happy as I was that day that we were all together. I love you all!

Finally baby came

So we had another weekend like last weekend only this time we saw results. I was having contractions starting Friday night. I decided to just try to get some sleep after about an hour and a half of contractions. So I went to bed waking up Saturday morning to stronger contractions than before. I called my mom about 9:30 crying because I didn't know if I should go in again only to be sent home, but the contractions were hurting this time. She said I will be at your house in an hour. My in-laws were already planning to come get the boys and the girls were going to spend the day with my mom.

We finally got to the hospital around 11am. They hooked me up to the monitors, checked me, and then called my doctor. After calling my doctor the nurse came in and said "Who would want to wait until March 3rd to have a baby when they could have it on February 19th." When she said that at first I got excited. And then I got nervous and started to cry. I couldn't remember how much it hurt (the actual surgery) so I was anticipating the worst and I wasn't ready mentally to go through that. The nurse looked over at me and asked if I was crying and why. I didn't know what to say except that I'm just not as ready as I'd like to be. Ready or not....

She got me prepared for surgery in like 20-30 minutes and off we went. Jeremy was still changing his clothes when I went down and the nurse said she would bring him when she came. They did the spinal and got me all situated on the surgery bed. I kept asking when Jeremy was coming. The nurse came in and was getting things ready and still no Jeremy. I was worried he wasn’t going to be there. Finally they assured me he would come when I was all ready to start the procedure. And sure enough he was. He was right by my side holding my hand the whole time, well until baby came.

The first time I saw baby Bradley. I got to kiss him and say hi to him and then they took him.

The proud daddy.

Grandma Sue got to feed Bradley when they took him up to the room, while I was in recovery.

Our first visitors...Sheree, Rob & Zakary Bindrup. (My sister and her family)

Bradley got all cleaned up in the hospital the night he was born.

So peaceful after his bath.

During the night I couldn't sleep so I was just taking pictures of my cute little boy.

Daisha finally got to hold Bradley but we made her wear a mask because she has a bad cough.
Jillian's not so sure what to think of the whole thing.

Pictures of Bradley Don

Daisha loves babies...especially when they are her's to hold all the time. She is a great little helper.

Jillian is a helper too. She sees a bottle and wants to feed the baby. She isn't quite sure what to think of the baby though.

Coincidence? He's holding his own bottle already. He's only 2 days old. :)

Getting dressed to go home. YEAH! Isn't he so cute. I love his hair!

This is Debra my nurse that I had the whole time I was there. She loves Bradley. She wanted to take him home herself. She was a great nurse and even turned into a friendship.

Tucker loves his new little brother. He is a great big brother!

Bryton loves his "baby Bradley". He is very protective of him. They are going to grow up to be great friends!

Update

Sorry, I guess I should have posted sooner... So the update is....no baby yet.

Ok, so Sunday I was having steady contractions and Jeremy kept telling me that I needed to call the doctor's office to see if I should go into the hospital or not. I didn't think I needed to, so I ignored him. Then my mother in law came over and she was worried about me and before she left she made me promise I would at least call the doctor's office Monday morning. I said I would. Well then all of a sudden I thought I should call my mom and make sure she goes to bed kind of early incase this baby is coming in the middle of the night. She then went on to tell me I should call the doctor's office. She was concerned because it was a little early for me to be in labor.

Finally I called the doctor's office...guess I just had to hear it from my mom to get it through my head. Calling the doctor's office got me to I'm not sure who...but he gave me a direct number for the doctor that was on call that evening. I called him and he asked me if I was planning on going straight to c-section that I shouldn't be laboring much and I should go into the hopsital and have them check me and then go from there. So I called my mom back and that's what we did. My dad stayed home with the kids who were all already sleeping while my mom drove Jeremy and I to the hospital.

At the hospital they hooked me up to the machines, monitered the baby, made me drink lots of water to make sure my contractions were not being caused by dehydration, and checked to see if I was dialated. I was dialated to a 2 1/2 at that point. After all the tests and the contractions were because I was in labor they decided to give me some shots to slow down my contractions. Boy did those shots hurt. I don't know what's wrong with me but the shots hurt worse than the contractions. LOL They gave me the shot every 20 minutes, 3 times total. The first and second shots didn't help AT ALL, in fact I think they made the contractions more intense. But then the third time it felt like they slowed down. Then they checked me again and I was "about the same" still dialated to a 2 1/2 so they decided to give me a pill to make me relax. I don't remember what they called it, but it must have helped because they sent me home and I slept like a baby. When they sent me home they told me no lifting, no exercise, and just take it easy. HAAA...with 4 kids not possible, but I feel like I have been doing a pretty good job so far with that, considering what I do on a daily basis. And Jeremy has really had to step up and he's done a great job.

The reason they didn't want to go ahead with the procedure is because I was only 36 weeks and 2 days and they want the baby to have a little more time to make sure he is fully developed. Which I guess is ok. It's better for the baby that way so I guess that's what's best. Even if I am ready to be finished with this pregnancy. The joys of motherhood. :)

So I called the doctor's office Monday morning and they told me to keep my already scheduled appointment for Monday the 21st and we'll go from there. So that is where we are at right now. Since going to the hospital on Sunday I have had a few contractions but nothing regular or of much strength. So looks like baby is following doctor's orders. I'll keep everyone posted as best I can on everything.

Contractions are a sign....

Well I have been having contractions started steadily yesterday. They were about 12 minutes apart and steady for about 3-4 hours. Then just randomly throughout the day but still all day and night.

Today I have had consistant contractions every 5 minutes and they were a little harder than yesterday. They were consistant for about 4 hours again and then I decided to try to go to sleep. I slept for about an hour and woke up to contractions. I have been walking around the house this afternoon to find out if they are real labor contractions. I believe they are. They didn't go away when I was walking. The contractions have been slowly getting longer and harder.

I am thinking baby may come some time this week. I'm excited about that because I am very uncomfortable, but we had things planned this week that we need to do that are important for us buying a house and Jeremy has a few tests this week. So...a little mixed feelings here. Either way, I'm sure we will get it all done. I'm not going to stress about things until I hear the baby crying :)

Doctor, House and such

So yesterday we went to our appointment to talk about being qualified to buy a house. Everything looks good, now we just have to do all the paperwork. There is a class or two we have to take also, we will start on that and get the ball rolling. Jeremy and I are both excited. We'll keep you posted the more we find out.

Also yesterday I had a doctors appointment. I didn't know why I was going, besides the fact that it had been 3 weeks since my last appointment. Well I think my doctor likes to play with the ultrasound machine. He gave me an ultrasound just to check and make sure everything looked good. Passed once again. Baby looks great and he said there's lots of clear fluid. The only problem was, doctor wanted to get a good picture of the baby's face so he pretty much picked up the baby and turned him over. Oh my goodness, it hurt so bad. I was thinking it's less than a month away, we can just wait to see what he looks like. It was very painful. But we did get a good picture he looks like he has a fat nose, not long but fat. and he looks chubby. We'll see how he looks when he comes out. :) 23 more days! :) I am getting excited!

And on top of all that for Family Night we went with some friends from church to the YMCA. The kids got to go swimming. They loved it. Jeremy's not a big swimmer so he didn't get in and I didn't get in because I don't have a swimming suit that would fit me right now. I didn't know they let you wear just shorts and a t-shirt. Maybe next time I will go, if it's soon. ;) But the kids loved it. I did take a few pictures.

After the YMCA I was exhausted and I guess the kids were too...they all went straight to bed when we got home (8:15pm), and didn't fight sleep at all. I told Jeremy we should take them swimming more often.

Everyone's HELP

Ok if you are reading this you HAVE to post a comment. In the comment you HAVE to give a boy name suggestion. Make it something unique. I need help. I like the name Konar, Jeremy doesn't like it. He like the name Dax, and I don't like that one. So I am asking for help. Give some suggestions and maybe we will end up with something you suggest. :) Thanks for your help!

So yesterday my sister in law, Anne threw me a baby shower. It was so wonderful. She made it an open house thing. And instead of playing games and entertaining everyone she made it relaxed and easy going. Everyone could visit, decorate a white onzie and have something to eat. It was fantastic. Thanks to all who helped and came! We got lots of diapers which was very much needed. Thanks everyone!!!

I have been reading in my pregnancy book the last couple of days. Knowing my time to have this baby is getting closer I am starting to get that excited feeling. I feel like I have about 80% of the things done that I need to get done before baby comes. So just a few more things and we'll be set. Most importantly, I need to get a bag packed to take to the hospital. oops...forgot about that. LOL

Ok, I will let you all get back to what you were doing...don't forget to leave a name suggestion or two. Thanks!

Not sure

I am not really sure what to write about. It's been a week or two since I have posted anything but not much has really happened. So...I will just talk about me. :)

I am 36 weeks pregnant and feelin' every bit of it. I am thinking I might not last until the scheduled date of March 3rd. I have a doctors appointment on Monday so we will see what he says. Maybe it's just me wishful thinking. But I have the house cleaned and some what prepared for the little guy. I got one of those closet hanging things that has little cubbie spaces for his clothes. I put that in Jillian's room and I have the basinet for him to sleep in. And that's all the further I've gotten.

Oh...I just thought of something...Jeremy set an appointment for us to meet with the lady on Monday to see if we can be qualified to buy a house. There is a grant we are working on getting and in order to get that we have to buy in Canyon County, so if it all works out we will still be in the area but be in our OWN place. I'm excited but I'm trying to hold my excitement back just incase we don't get approved for some reason.

It looks like Monday is going to be a busy day for me so I will probably post again on Tuesday or maybe if you're lucky Monday evening and update everyone on everything. So until then....ENJOY LIFE!!
